We interrupt your regularly scheduled Land Mammal for this bulletin: My DSL is misbehaving and I can't make it work. I'm doing my bestest to drag the laptop out to Starbucks/Soma/Panera/the library and use wi-fi every so often, but for the next few days I'm afraid responses to email, facebook, blog comments, etc. will be slow at best.
I hope to be back up to speed soon -- got a technician scheduled to come out on Tuesday.

Sorry to hear about the DSL problems. :( Computer problems can cause a level of frustration far in excess of the scale of the problem itself. Go figure.
Word verification is "blybospe," which I believe is binary code for "Phbt."

Back when I had DSL I spent a whole day trying to fix a problem and finally it turned out it wasn't me or my computer, it was the phone company and they actually had to come out and fix something in one of the junction boxes.
Jessie, I called AT&T a few days ago and got a technician scheduled -- sadly, between their schedule & my work schedule (lots of meetings; I almost never have a four hour block when I can take off and sit around waiting) the appointment isn't until Tuesday afternoon. I am pretty sure it's a hardware problem SOMEwhere... and at this point, since I've replaced and reset everything I can physically replace and reset, I think it is a phone company thing!
