Nice news and a question

Cortland Review sent an acceptance for my poem "One Goose" tonight. Yay! Don't know yet when it will appear.

Does anyone know what's up with Rock Salt Plum Review? I sent them some poems back in May, and now their website just says "sorry, the site you requested has been disabled."

Freezing rain outside -- I am very glad I don't have to go anywhere in the morning. Apparently a whole section of I-70 in Indianapolis has been shut down because it's just too slick to drive. Yep, it's winter.

Here's your daily dose of cuteness: my two boys playing Rassle-Mania on the couch. I should take wagers and sell tickets.

Gee, I wouldn't know who to bet on. It looks like they each have their strong points...

Congratulations on Cortland Review, Anne!

Yes, well done on the Cortland Review acceptance. That's great news! And the kitties do both seem to have their own special moves, so I think it would be an exciting Rassle-Mania for sure.

Oh, those kitties!

I hope RSP hasn't jumped the shark. They printed some of my work a while ago, and this means that my work in their archives has also disappeared. This may be the strongest argument for print vs. web. At least when a print journal goes down, I still have a copy of my work, which is important, at least to me, when citing them in the acknowledgments in my book.

Rebecca: Yes, exactly! I've taken to printing out my poems anytime they appear in an online journal, but it's not the same as having them still be available -- and I've had the experience of being published in a web journal that disappeared a couple issues later.

RSP published some good stuff and it was really nice-looking. I'll be very sad if they've flown the electronic coop. Hopefully it's just a temporary "someone forgot to pay the web hosting bill" glitch or something.

Artichoke and Ivy (hey, isn't it supposed to be the Holly and the Ivy this time of year?) -- thanks! :)

Hee... I don't even think you were onboard yet when I first sent the poems, T! They were floating around there for kind of a while. Actually I think I submitted them before I even started blogging.

:)

Martyn & Jenni - thanks!

RSP @ the internet archive doesn't yield any clues
