Cough, cough, Rattle, cough

Still sick. Maybe it really is the flu, and not just me being overly dramatic about a cold. I don't think I ever had a super high fever, but I don't remember ever being this fatigued for this long from a cold before. Phhhhbbbbbbttttt. Toi Derricotte is reading on campus this week, so hopefully I'll be able to stop making disgusting snot and coughing-up-a-lung noises before then so I can attend. And I hope to resume less-whiny blogging soon.

Meanwhile, this announcement from the folks at Rattle (you'll see ads in P&W and elsewhere before long).

(Click on the image to see it larger so you can read the rules. It's worth checking out -- looks like a decent contest, with a nice fat prize!)

I'm gonna try to soar too. Thanks for the tip.

And the profile photo, damn girl, you look like Stevie Nicks and Christ. In a good way, of course. A very good way.

Get better, you!

Anne, I hope that you are better!

The MFA program has been a dream (mentor, fiction and poetry genre/craft workshops) and also a nightmare (no other women in poetry and one appalling student in my main seminar). I will e-mail you more details if you wish. I am keeping a journal from which I'll post when I get back.

hope you get to feeling better, Anne. My Mom has a terrible cold right now too--maybe something going around up there?

Thanks for the good-health wishes, folks. I'm working on it, I swear! Jeez, this one's been hard to shake. Everybody around here is getting it though, so at least I'm trendy.

A.D., it sure is a big prize. I bet a lot of people are going to enter so I probably have no chance. I think I'm gonna go for it anyway though. I've been thinking of subscribing to Rattle anyhow.

Erin, your comment on the photo made me giggle. Would that I could ever resemble Stevie Nicks. (As for Jesus, we won't go there. *grin*)

Pamela, I'd love to hear more about the program, either on your blog or in email! So glad you ended up being able to attend.
