I'm sorry the world lost Grace Paley. What a legacy she has left us, in written word and social activism. She was always one of the people who could bring me strnegth and a renewed interest in life just by thinking of her, seeing her picture or saying her name.
I'll never forget Grace Paley's description (I read it years ago and can no longer remember where) of seeing Hanoi from the air, coming into the airport -- this was in the years just after the war in Vietnam had ended. She described Hanoi as the greenest city she'd ever been in.
