I'm likewise a little surprised -- I've never had any inkling that Sharon Olds would go near anything remotely political (in the sense we're talking about here), but a good letter. It especially ends well.

In the letter it's as if she set up a beautiful meal herself on a linen tablecloth -- then pulled that cloth out from under it. Yep. Good for her. Thanks for pointing this out.
