today's napowrimo

This one -- like most of 'em this week -- is not necessarily a keeper, but I'm posting it just to show I'm still hanging in there. There may be phrases in here I can cannibalize, but really, the point is just to get something on the page. I sort of cheated here and wrote about my own procrastination, since I fell asleep on the couch all evening (thus missing the Indiana Review reading that featured Diana Marie Delgado, darn it) and didn't get diddly done till almost midnight.

Again, this will disappear shortly.

and, poof, gone. Like the last one, if you missed it & want to see it, backchannel & I'll send it on.

This is just beautiful. If I'd written this, I'd consider it a keeper, for sure.

Especially loved "Because kisses can be silent and remembering is loud."

Some great moments in there - the cat who snores, kisses, breaking glass. I seem to like the shorter lines better, the static scenes. Because statements to me require photographs, not videos. If that makes any sense. Enjoyed this one a lot.

Lyle, David, thanks. :) I may cannibalize some bits of this -- we'll see. Probably the best outcome of this "writing every day" thing will be a whole pile of spare-parts poems!
